It's little wonder the
Gold Coast is one of Australia’s fastest growing
cities. Not only has been recognised
as one of the world’s most liveable regions,
it has one of Australia’s most enviable
investment records.
Broadbeach property remains the city’s best blue-chip
investment, with average growth of 8 percent per year over
the past 30 years. Over the next four years, experts believe
the Gold Coast’s average house price will rise from
$425,000 to $625,000.
According to the quarterly Midwood Investment report,
released recently, the Gold Coast has endured five distinct
housing ‘booms’ dating back to 1979-80.
“We are firm believers in the seven years property
cycle, particularly in Queensland,” said the report. “On
this basis we are confident the next boom will be in
2008-09”.
There was 825,000 international visitors to the
Coast in the past year, up by 10 percent. Domestic
visitors totalled 3,568 million, up just one percent
on the previous year.
There are now 508,000 people permanently residing
on the Gold Coast and this figure is expected to hit
the 600,000 mark by 2010, according to the Midwood
report. (Source Australian Property Investment Planning).
